Dr. Melmed grew up in Dallas and later attended Texas A&M University for both undergraduate and veterinary school degrees. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Thereafter, she attended The Ohio State University for an Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Melmed then returned to Texas A&M University to pursue a residency in Internal Medicine. Following completion of her residency in 2004, she returned to Dallas and has practiced Internal Medicine in the D/FW area since that time. Dr. Melmed's particular interests include hematology, immune mediated disease, renal disease, hepatic disease, as well as critical internal medicine cases.
